Strengths Finder

“A person can perform only from strength. One cannot build performance on weakness, let alone on something one cannot do at all.” -- Peter Drucker

I've heard positive things about the StrengthsFinder assessment tool that helps people discover and identify what they do best -- so I decided give it a shot.  When the package arrived from Amazon, I was excited to tear into it.  The real value of the book, I learned, is the website access code that's sealed in an attached envelope.

It took me about 20-25 minutes to get through the web questionnaire and upon completion, it generated my top 5 list of strengths. Overall, I felt the results accurately described the things I'm naturally drawn to and the personalized "Strategic Insight and Action-Planning Guide" was very useful.

Here's what I got...

1. Futuristic

People who are especially talented in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what could be. They inspire others with their visions of the future.

2. Connectedness

People who are especially talented in the Connectedness theme have faith in the links between all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has a reason.

3. Ideation

People who are especially talented in the Ideation theme are fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena.

4. Responsibility

People who are especially talented in the Responsibility theme take psychological ownership of what they say they will do. They are committed to stable values such as honesty and loyalty.

5. Individualization

People who are especially talented in the Individualization theme are intrigued with the unique qualities of each person. They have a gift for figuring out how people who are different can work together productively.
